Update: Trophy Mid-Term 4/14/2010 *Finish*

Update: 4/22/2010 *FINISH*

Alright, here's my 3rd attempt at the Trophy project -- 2 of which were of the same material and failed horribly due to either the size or complexity of the design used. The pictures below are and is the refined version of the trophy. The intended design was off of the notorious F-117 Stealth Nighthawk. Made of clear plastic with chrome backing (plastic glass) with simple clear tape and a wooden base. Theme was, again, stealth.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, so after completing this last week. I took my project on a road trip to Michaels (the notorious art store) to get some things recommended for it from a "knowledgeable" representative. With the rain that day, I should of figured that water and paper don't mix. Well how bad could it be if it's in my car right? Wrong. With my windshield already cracked down the middle (horizontally) it happened to bust that day. Ask me why. Hale if I know. My luck has been bad ever since I started these projects so what did I expect. Anyhow, so with my windshield breaking halfway in and ruining me and my project. I inevitably had to start all over. This time with a new idea. If I didn't already state this above, the first attempt was making a bust of a shadow person with paper. Like the shadow art trash that can be found on google images. Any how, I coated the paper figure with mod-podge. A lot of good that did. With that out of the way. Onto my finished product. Basically all it is a paintball that indirectly casts a shadow of a person (a paintballer), ergo the meaning of "stealth". Something that's there, but it's not really what you'd expect it to be or it being not really there. In this case, it's there but not as what you'd think it to be. It might be confusing to look at until I explain what it is in person. All I used was a wooden base, a wooden slab, a wooden plate, a wooden rod/dowel and of course paint/paintball. That and hot glue + clear coat. The main material was wood of course and the idea was on stealth, as it were, as well as paintball. Which is what I'm apparently good at on par with being stealthy. Ex. flanking the opposition from behind without being noticed from them nor my own team. Sad. Any who, if you don't believe me. Here are some picture documentation:

Update: The Figure - 4/11/2010 *Finished*

Alright, so after the "crushing" incident. My brother agreed to rebuild my project. With some of my help; which most of the time for me, was outside sparring with my bokken. Interestingly enough, he did a bang up job in putting everything back together. I guess that perfectionist trait does that to people. Looking at the wreckage of a mess for the first time instantaneously made you think, "there ain't no way in hale that I'm going to be able to put that back together...[F] that..." In any case, the puzzle pieces that were originally on, came off. So I had to melt the hot glue off and sand down, repaint and do some minor adjustments/tweaking. It came out pretty well. Now today, starting at 10:00AM and roughly 4 hours, 3 hot glue sticks, and 476 puzzle pieces later. I finished, finally. The moment of satisfaction immediately filled the vicinity and plagued the neighboring area, namely my other family members. Hehe :) Anyway, it was done fast due to time constraints and the puzzle pieces do not depict anything so don't try and confuse yourself attempting to see what you can see! Here are some pictures:

Onto the next project. The trophy...
