The Figure - 3/15/2010

Alright, so my camera's been acting rather stupidly lately and not doing what I want it to do. So that being said, I have not been able to get the most up-to-date pictures regarding the various projects that we've been undergoing. I managed to finish this project up nicely with the puzzle pieces attached. However, before I could take any pictures the most absolutely worst thing happened. My brother apparently destroyed my work piece. I have no idea how but it happened and he's the culprit. That's all there is to it. Completely unrepairable. It's like comparing Godzilla to New York city. How are you going to repair a car that he just stepped on? Yeah I didn't think so -- so basically that's what happened and now I cannot prove it without any pictures. The only pictures I have up are the ones I took gosh knows when. Regarding the actual project "itself", the figure is representing a male's upper torso attempting to rise out of something; more or less the ground or some sort of restraint it you will. There are quite a few ideas and or expressions of "tension", which include: emotionally, physically and the materials used.

-First off, emotionally refers to the person's stress. Ex. from daily/repeatedly rising up and down from life; more specifically learning, problem solving, triumphing, earning and various others such as emotionally detached, depression, and failure.
-Secondly, physically refers to the person's actual figure rising from whatever is holding them down. The tension is from the soft bodily tissues and what have you from pressuring against a hard surface.
-Thirdly, the materials used also provide a form of tension. Ex. semi-flexible hot glue with metal/aluminum rods.

Though they're rather weak explanations, it's the best that I could do at this current time...here are the lame pictures:

Music

I do apologize but I cannot seem to find a way to put music on blogs using any coding(s) or generators. I've tried uploading, copying, linking and embedding...with no luck. Blogs are so much more different than say myspace. I have no idea why...but at any rate, I seem to have gotten one for to work. But that route does not play automatically and has to load and be pressed "play" to start streaming. Which is completely renders the whole idea of "background" music, useless. The way I put music on my page was through "music shake" which is a site that lets people make music, thus giving the creator various links and codes that are compatible with blogs. If you don't make the music on there, then you cannot possibly host any other songs (from other artists) on. If that makes sense...now I will continue looking for ways to achieve this. Especially with the amount of requests from the class..

Until then,
